Media Operations

The Media Operations Department of BOCOG was established in April, 2004.The Media Operations team will provide the best possible working conditions for members of the accredited written and photographic press and Non-rights-holding Broadcasters (ENR) as well as coordination of broadcasting services for Rights-holding Broadcasters and Host Broadcaster-Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Co., Ltd (BOB). The mission of Media Operations is to allow the Media to cover the Games to the best of their abilities and to ensure the fullest coverage by the different media and the widest possible audience for the Olympic Games.


Main functional area of Media Operations:

Main Press Centre (MPC), serving as the operational base for news agencies and organizations.

Venue Media Centres (VMCs), providing working facilities and services at competition venues, Olympic Village, Media Villages and the IOC hotel.

Olympic News Service (ONS), providing biographies, historical data, general interest stories and Games-time news by Intranet information system INFO2008.

Photo Services, supporting photographers to take the best possible shots at the venues.

Media Services, looking after such vital services as Accommodation, Accreditation, Transportation, Rate Card, Volunteers and the delivery of all Media services updates and information.

Broadcasting Coordination, coordinating with parties concerned to provide the Olympic-level standard facilities and services to BOB and Rights-Holding Broadcasters.
