Scene of the session

(BEIJING, Oct. 23) -- The 5th World Forum on Sport, Education and Culture held its first plenary session Monday morning at the Beijing International Convention Center.

The meeting's key topic for discussion was the cultural and educational function of the Olympic Movement.

IOC member and Honorary President of Chinese Olympic Committee He Zhenliang presided over the meeting. Also present were IOC President Jacques Rogge and BOOG Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General Wang Wei.

BOCOG Executive Vice-President Jiang Xiaoyu delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

More than 650 experts, academics, government officials and related personalities from over 150 countries and regions attended the meeting.
