Journey

   Olympia - Athens - Airport of Hellenikon (runners), Hellenikon - Okinawa (Japan Airlines), runners relay in Okinawa, Okinawa - Tokyo (aeroplane) , Tokyo -Nirasaki (runners). In Nirasaki the Flame was split into two runs, one along the pacific coast and the other along the sea of Japan, to be reunited again in Aomori. The Olympic Flame then travelled to Hokkaido and finally to Sapporo.
