Women's 100m champion Guzel Khubbieva was an easy qualifier from Sunday's 200m heats to increase her chances of a golden double. The Kazakh cruised to victory in heat 1 in 23.54 seconds to book her place in Monday's final. She will be joined by the other medallists from the 100m, Susanthika Jayasinghe Mannalage of Sri Lanka, who took silver and bronze medallist Raqaya Al Ghasara of Bahrain. It will be a major surprise if the eventual winner does not come from this trio. Al Ghasara logged the fastest qualifying time in the 200m heats as she took heat 3 impressively in 23.42. Former Olympic bronze medallist Mannalage, who has enjoyed the backing of thousands of Sri Lankan supporters at Doha 2006, won heat 2 in 23.53 to progress. The women's 200m final will take place on Monday 11 December at 16:10. (Credit: Doha 2006. Click here for further information.)
