(BEIJING, April 2) -- The Beijing Olympic organizers and the youth organization of Beijing are calling on the students of higher learning institutions in the Chinese capital to take part in a DV contest for the purpose of environmental protection.

At a ceremony to start the campaign on Sunday, students of close to 100 universities and institutes of Beijing were urged to make contributions to building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society by attending theme lectures, finding people devoted to environmental protection and shooting them with their cameras.

The Beijing Television Station will show selected DV works and the local newspaper The First will follow the campaign development.

The campaign is supported by Coca-Cola, a worldwide Olympic partner.

A theme flag is given to the representative of students.
